Rewas Handicraft & Garment is a home manufacturer, exporter, wholesaler and retailer of knitted cotton and woolen fabrics, built as the sister company of fabric manufacturer Champa Kapada Udyog.

The company is involved in manufacturing, distributing and exporting hand and machine knit cotton and woolen fabrics. Its best-known line of products goes by a single word: “Magic” — a name drawn from the creative potential of the pieces themselves, which include headbands, skirts, infinity scarves, neck warmers and tube tops, alongside a separate segment for garments made upon request.

What sets the line apart is the number of colours it carries at once — worked into the weave rather than added after. The specialty of the Magic line is that the same piece can be worn in different ways and styles, by anyone, regardless of age group.

Rewas Handicraft & Garment was among the first companies to conceptualise hand and machine knit fabric in this way, and the company is particular about copyright and originality in its products — credited as the starter of the growing trend of knitted crochets in Nepal.

The wider vision has been to popularise Nepali culture around the globe. Every year since 2012, the company has attended L'Artigiano in Fiera, an annual retail exhibition in Milan, Italy, representing Nepal's handmade fabrics to an international audience. Locally, it serves customers through its wholesale and retail store in Thamel, and exports to an expanding base of international consumers — from the United States to countries across Europe, as well as Australia, Japan and China.

That objective shapes how the company staffs itself. Rewas Handicraft & Garment believes Nepali youth should be employed within the country, and has been enthusiastic about employing Nepali people to work locally rather than moving production abroad. Alongside the revenue from its growing list of export markets, the company points to this as central to maintaining the prestige of Nepali culture and craftsmanship.
